Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Acupuncture are a complete medical system in their own right.

Theoretically TCVM can be used to both diagnose and treat most conditions that Western medicine treats. However, like many forms of medicine, acupuncture is more suited to some conditions than others. In addition acupuncture can be used on its own, or in combination with conventional medicine and surgery. It might also be used where medications are not effectively helping or when the animal is suffering side-effects from treatment.
